S4 Software Solutions are a small Leicestershire-based company specialising
in the production of printed customer communications using DOC1,
particularly in the financial and utilities markets. We cover the complete
project lifecycle from initial system design and consultation through
development and testing to implementation and post-implementation support.
During our involvement in document development, we have become familiar
with many standards such as those developed by APACS and ANSI and aim
to produce the highest standard of advanced, yet maintainable systems.
We believe that although the company is very small, we benefit from;
- a high level of skill within document composition and the DOC1 product in
particular - experience in designing complete document generation systems for a wide
variety of businesses (such as banking, life assurance and utilities) - an ability to work well as a team, both within the company and with clients
- a professional attitude to system design, development and implementation
- a wide range of technical knowledge of both IBM OS/390 and AIX
platforms and the requirements for developing systems on these platforms - an extensive knowledge of IBM’s Advanced Function Presentation (AFP)
architecture and toolset - being one of the UK’s leading authorities on full colour digital document
production within an AFP environment - considerable development experience using COBOL II
- experience in developing applications for value items (cheque and draft
production) in a MICR cut-sheet environment
We are able to provide consultancy services to clients based upon the amount
of design and development work required. Unlike traditional contractor
services, this means the client pays for the work done rather than the length of
time the developer is contracted to the client - whilst gaining the experience
and skills of two highly qualified document systems specialists. This will often
result in significant savings over, for instance, a six month contract.
Being located near East Midlands airport and the M1 enables S4 Software
Solutions to provide a first class service to clients, regardless of their location
within the British Isles and parts of Europe.
We are also regularly attendees of both the DOC1 User Group and Xplor and
have a good working relationship with Group1.
